To Serve You Truth
A poem by Julia R. DeStefano
After Monika Carless’ “Choose a Woman Who Will Serve You Truth”
To Serve You Truth
To awaken your desire is gift enough -
and I see your fears
‘neath unshed tears
because I traverse my own darkness
with a naked heart.
He who chooses to know himself well
will find me.
For in the strength of my word,
I am a woman who will serve you truth.
“Hear me! Honor me! Seek me!” I say.
Feel how I throb in my desire
to exist beyond memories,
outside of fantasy.
You who has tasted the nectar
of my visions.
Lapped up the Tanqueray of my lust.
The salt of my sorrow.
Come on, and rise with me -
the phoenix aching to fly with you.
Eat at my table of too-often broken dreams.
Because I am the enchantress
who will serve you the truth
you have ached for.
In the luxury of my fullest expression.
Needing your fire to purify me
as my voice calls out your name
across every sunlit,
moonlit mile.
I, an elixir for your perpetual thirst.
Pure of heart
and walking between worlds.
You remember me,
don’t you?
