A poem by Julia R. DeStefano

Follow the Sun

I talked to the moon about you.

Flickering stars kept time

as the planets inched closer,

aching to get in on the earthly action -

this plumbing of the depths.

But the fiery sun,

that burning ball of desire,

sets me aglow in the light of truth -

divine elixir for an incessantly restless soul.

Then it pushes me toward your heat.
