A poem by Julia R. DeStefano
Sheer Strength
The soul is despondent
but not hopeless.
The heart,
pained but not broken.
The one who finds us
through the noise -
worth holding onto
come hell or high water,
for they show us a world
independent of dissatisfaction
and break the cycle
of bad dreams
because we can live without them,
but we don’t want to.
That’s it.
That’s the poem.
